CHARITABLE AID.

(FEE PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Christchdrcu, May 8. During April the Charitable Aid Committee granted out-door relief in 4SB separate cases, 20 more than in March, 12 more than in April last year. The Charitable Aid Board to • day requested Mr F. Jones, M.3.R., to make inquiries in Wellington into the question of granting relief to Maoris, as some members understood that Government contribute toward the relief of the Maoris in the North Island, though they have refused to do so in the case of the North Canterbury Board.
