AN UNFORTUNATE CHINAMAN.

(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.) . Westport, March 28. , The body of a man was found in the surf

at the mouth of the Buller River yesterday. It has evidently come down the stream. The body is decomposed, and ; , there are wounds in the neck and cheek, whether caused before death or by snags in the river since death cannot at present be settled. Later. An inquest was held this evening on the body. It proyes to be that of a Chinaman supposed to be missing from Lyell since the Ist March. The injuries were proved by medical evidence to have been received after death. The verdict was found dead.
