THE PRISONER HALL.
(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Dunedin, February 4. The prisoner Thos. Hall, under sentence of death for the murder of Captain Cain, left for Lyttelton in the Koranui this evening. He will be kept in gaol there until the sitting of the Appeal Court. \ It is' understood that a speoial sitting of the Appeal Court will be held on the; 11th of next month to consider the points reserved in the case of Hall. Christchurch, February 7. Thomas Hall, who arrived from Dunedin by the Koranui yesterday, appears now to feel his position. A great change bag taken place in him since he left Lyttelton to stand his trial for the crime of which he has just been found guilty. It is stated that he confessed to the warder in charge of him during the voyage that he was guilty of attempting to poison his wife, but he is said to still maintain his innocence in connection with the murder of Captain Cain, Dunedin, February 8. A sitting of the Court of Appeal is fixed for Bth March, at Christchurch, when Messrs Chapman and Denniston will argue the point reserved in Hall’s behalf.
