THE AUCKLAND CARTRIDGES.
(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Kaikoura, December 8.
Mr Smart, of the local police force, met with an aocident yesterday while using Auckland-made ammunition at rifle practice. The cartridge bursting, was blown out of the broach, which was twisted considerably, and was projected backward, striking him over the left eye, and partially stunning him. Several cartridges ou being examined showed very faulty construction.
