THE TRUNK RAILWAY.

(united PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Auckland, November 3.

The District Engineer, Mr Hales, fias returned from a trip through the King Country. He has been inspecting the progress of the work along the Main Trunk Railway, and reports that, every thing is going on Batisfactorily. The first 18 miles will be completed in six weeks, and will be ready for traffic soon afterward. The tunnel contract is progressing as well as can be expected.
