THE IMPERIAL INSTITUTE.

London, October 27.
It is reported that Sir Samuel ■Wilson and Sir Daniel Cooper will be members of the Imperial Institute Committee. Sir Saul Samuel suggests that the Institute should consist ot paying members, and should absorb tli© present Colonial Institute, and that the public should be admitted free on certain days. The Jubilee Exhibition Committee will meet on Monday to reconsider the disposal of the South Australian exhibits.

Her Majesty will lay the foundationstone of the Imperial Institute on 28th June. , , • . Sir Andrew Clarke has given a donation of £SOOO toward the Imperial Institute fund. London, October 29. Lord Hevelstqke, Sir Henry Holland, aud Sir P. C. Owen have been appointed members of the Imperial Institute Committee. London, November 1. The Adelaide Commission have cabled to their Government asking their decision as to the disposal of exhibits at the Colinderies. At a meeting of the several Executives, Sir E. D. Bell submitted motion to the effect that if the colonies would grant the principal exhibits and give a capital sum for the purpose of decorating the courts at the Institute, the Executives would undertake "temoorary supervision of them, but that it would be unfair to expect the colonies to make an annual grant to the Institute. Sir Saul Samuel urged the meeting to await the decision of the Colonial Governments on the subject, and the meeting consequently adjourned until Saturday.

London, October 27. Tli e-meeting of the Agents-General, convoked by Sir Graham Berry, for the purpose of compiling a telegram to tlieir respective G-overnments with reference to the Imperial Institute, was held to-day. The message, which has been despatched, states that the Prince of "Wales wishes the exhibits of the Colonial and Indian Exhibition to remain as a nucleus for < the Institute, and requests the permission of the Colonial Governments for this purpose. It is announced that the Queen will open the Institute in person, in June next. A Committee has been formed under the presidency of the Prince of Wales, and includes Sir Henry James, Mr C-osehen, and three other English representatives, besides Colonial members. ■ _
