At the Supreme Court Henry White was found guilty of larceny as a servant of jewellery belonging to Me Dickinson, of Westport. He was sentenced to three years’ hard labor. There is another charge, but probably a nolle prosequi will be entered therein. Herbert Hutchings, a traveller, charged with

indecent assault on children, pleaded guilty, and was sentenced to two years’ bard labor. Mr Justice Richmond made scathing remarks as to this class of crime. Daniel Maloney, charged with horse scaling, received two years ; and Mary Brown, for larceny from a dwelling, received 18 months. , Only one other criminal case remains to be tried. Nelson, October 22.

The criminal business at ihe Supreme Court was concluded this evening, when Annie Donald, charged with forging and uttering, was found guilty and sentenced to two years' bard labor. Each cas9 has ended in a conviction, and certainly all the cases were got up remarkably well, and very clearly. In the charge against Mrs Donald, the Judge said it must have Btruck the jury that the police were very prompt in the matter.
