Dunedin, October 20.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company report (per Mr D. Stronach) as follows : Cattle —2lO were yarded to-day. Best bullocks brought L 9 to LlO 10s ; one pen, Ll2 12s 6d; light and medium, Lsto L 8 10s. Beef, 22s 6d per lOOlbs. Sheep—2733 were penned. Best cross-breds brought 12s to 153 3d; medium to good, 8s to 11s 6d ; do shorn, 5s 6d to 83 3d; merino wethers brought 8s to 10s 3d ; mutton, l£d to lid per lb. Lambs—4s7 brought 3s to 9s 3d a piece. There were 210 pigs, the market being weak. Slips and stores brought 7s to 10s 6d; porkers, 14s to 22s ; baconers, 24s to 495. Christo a orch, October 20.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company report (per Mr E. G. Staveley) as follows :At Addington yards to-day about 5000 sheep, and full supplies of pigs and cattle were yarded. Fat cattle improved, best bullocks bringing L 8 to Lll 15s. Beef brought 22s to 25s per 100 lbs. There was a fail' demand for grown store cattle, but small sorts were dull. Fat sheep were in better demand. Prices improved somewhat. Prime crossbred wethers brought 15s to 17s 6d ; merino ditto, 13s to 16s 9d ; merino ordinary, 7s to 9s ; shorn crossbreds, 9s to 12s. Mutton 2£d to 3d; ditto shorn, 2d per lb. Store sheep were quiet and values unaltered.
