ALLEGED CRUELTY.
(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Christchurch, August 3. A case of alleged ill-treatment by a pnpil teacher is reported from Noith Canterbury. A girl ten years old, daughter of Mr T. Bird of Rangiora Swamp, was brought to the township to-day suffering from two large and deep seated abscesses on the leg, caused, the father alleges, from a blow given by a pupil teacher at the school she had been attending. ___________
