THE WELLINGTON GAS COMPANY.

■TO THE EDITOS OF THE NEW ZEALAND MAIL. Sir,—To meet hard times the Gas «Company ought to reduce the cost of that article. A (public meeting of citizens should be called to protest against the -charge as exorbitant, 63 or .7s per 1000 .cubic feet being as much as the public can afford to ,pay in these times. If the <Gas Company'turn a deaf ear to the repeated -request of the public for a reduction, the sooner an opposition company is established the better. Nothing exasperates people more than having to pay ■such an overcharge as 12s 6d. I have no sympathy or patience with such a Com-pany.-—I am &c., Fair Price.
