Letters to the Editor,
TO THE EDITOR OP THE NEW ZEALAND MAIL Sir, —In olden times it became the duty of the Europeans residing in this Colony to protect the Native population, and by inviting their assistance and advice in making laws for their welfare aud good government, the present success has been achieved. Now, however, the trouble is the other way. Don’t you think they might assist the white members by refraining from exercising their privilege of voting where questions of such vital importance (but of no immediate interest to them) are Under discussion in Parliament ? —I am, &c., Huia. Wellington, 29th August, 1885.
