BIBLE MATCH.
The final result of the Makara Rifle Company's prize firing took place at the Karori butts on Saturday afternoon, when Lieut. Lancaster became the successful competitor for the company's gold Challenge medal. A number of handsome prizes were presented by some of the leading gentlemen of the district and citizens of Wellington. In the evening the members of the above corps assembled at Spiers' Hall for the distribution of prizes, the whole affair passing off in a most satisfactory manner. The company have decided to have another friendly contest on the Queen's Birthday, when a few prizes on hand will be competed tor. The meeting terminated with a vote of thanks to the committee for their untiring efforts to make the meeting a success. The following is a list of the highest scores :
