DOMESTIC INTELLIGENCE.
We beg fo draw the attention of our fellow colonists to the advertisement in our paper of tonay, regarding the Velocipede brigantine. The Velocipede is the first of a line of packets belonging to the house of Messrs. Abercrombie and Co., of Sydney, and is intended to ply regularlv. between Auckland and Sydney. We understand that her enterprising owners have a similar vessel, about to be launched, and intended for the same trade. The Velocipede is a well.built and fast-sailing vessel; no expenses have been spared in fitting her up, and rendering her comfortable, as a pas-sage-ship. We can certify as to the goodness of her accommodations and table, from cur own personal experience ; and we doubt not that any passengers going by her to Sydney, will be highly able s lip, and hospitality of her Com* mander, Captain Woodward.—Editor. Legislative Council, Yesterday,—A report of " The Publication Committee" was received, adopted, and ordered to be printed. The debates of Council will, from the commencement of the discussions on "■ The Land Claims Bill'' he fully reported, and published in Supplementary Sheets with the Official Gazette.— Several bills were advanced a stage.— T\ie Governor laid on the table * The Harbour Regulations' Bill," the first reading of which was fixed for Wednesday next. The Council adjourned to Monday next, when it is expected there will be an interesting debate on the second reading of " The Law/ Claims' Bill."
We have to tender our thanks to Messrs, Dalziel and Co. for their favouring us witi the loan of their file of Scotch papers, which we shall duly extract from as our space permits, Several of our friends have been also kind enough to favor us with the sight of papers they have received from Great Britain, for which we tha-k them, and shall always deem ourselves favored by those of our friends who will oblige us with aa early sight of any paper they may receive from the mother country.
