LEITH AND NEW ZEALAND, " From Leith for Port Phillip, and Aucklaud ( the seat of Government) New Zealand, the Br'' tish built Barque Ben Nevis, 320 tons, Captai" John Nicol, will be despatched for the above Ports early in September." We have been informed that her consignees here Messrs. Dalziel and Co, have received the following advices from her owners, that she wi|l bring out a considerable number of passengers all of whom are capitalists, and that the Ben Nevk is laid on as one of a line of regular traders from Leith to this port. In laying this information before our readers we cannot but express our gratification in an. nouncing the first vessel laid on for this port from the Mother Country, more especially asshe brings those (and who are on their passage long ere this) we have been so anxiously looking out for- and so soon as she arrives we may hail the event as being the stepping stone to the future prosperity of this Port and Settlement.
