To the Editor of the New Zealand Herald and Auckland Gazette.
Sir, Through the medium of your Journal, I would wish to notice a scurrilous attack made upon me in the Police Reports of the Auckland Chronicle, in which, by the responsible appointment I hold in the Company's Office, I am made to appear in an invidious light to the public. My only object in noticing that report, which is made by an in dividual whom the public of Auckland will know was employed by meinthisEstablishment.in various capacities, and was dismissed from it in to very creditable manner to himself, is, to stay the public opinion on the question until the matters in dispute now pending, are brought to a conclusion. By inserting this you will greatly oblige me. I have the honor to remain, . Sir, Yours, obediently, JOHN MOORE.
