AUSTRALIAN COMPANIES A.C.I. DIVIDEND RAISED Australian Consolidated Industries, Ltd., lias announced a final dividend 0f..3% per cent, payable on June 27. This rakes the rate for the past year to 7 per cent, against f>y, per cent which was maintained for the two previous years. DUNEDIN, Thursday "At no time in the history of the company have conditions been more difficult than during the past 12 months," said Mr J. \ Sparrow, chairman of directors of the. Kaitangata Coal Company, Limited, at the annual meeting. Higher operating costs and a substantial drop in output were reported by the chairman who said the February floods had caused a reduction of 5000 tons in the coal mined.
