AIR FORCE CEREMONY

ALLEN—CARTER The marriage of Miss Maxine Carter, only daughter of Mr and Mrs A. G. Carter, of Wellington, to Pilot-Officer Godfrey William Allen, A.T.C., third son of Mrs E. M. Rumford and the late Mr H. W. Allen, of Wanganui, took place recently at St. Aidan's Church, Claudelands, Hamilton. The Rev. Mr Crossman officiated. Mrs Mulvahill was at the organ and a solo was sung by Mrs Monaghan, both of Te Aroha. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a trained gown of heavy ivory satin cut on classical lines, with wide three-quarter length sleeves. Her beautifully embroidered veil was held by a coronet of white roses and lily of the valley to match the sheaf which she carried. The bridesmaid, Miss Peggv Stewart, of Auckland, was in an ice-blue ninon frock, also cut on classical lines, and wore a short blue veil held by a coronet of pastel-shaded flowers, her bouquet being of similar flowers. Flying-Officer Peter Hunter, A.T.C., was best man. The A.T.C. formed a guard of honour as the bride and bridegroom came out of the church. The wedding breakfast was held at the Centreway Tearooms and was followed by a reception at the residence of Mr and Mrs L. H. Monteith, Hamilton.
