ELLEESIIE TRAINING KEEN PLAY AND PAR AVION BY ABAYDOS On a track that was in excellent order, some fast sprints were recorded at Elierslie yesterday, the principal performances being C'owper, Kraal, Corot, Rampant, Lord Luck, Chung Chong,, Black Beret, Billy Peach, Dinky Di, Imainan and Royal Ducjhess. The flags were out 40ft on the cotirse proper. The Stratford horses Keen Play, Embroider. Aimaza and Par Avion attracted attention by their sound efforts. All are in splendid condition. Other visiting horses to execute srood tasks included Constitution, Esmonde, Taveriiside, Diagonal and Wildore. The Avondale Stakes candidates General Lytup and Pellmeer were responsible for impressive performances. A feature of the trials was the smart,times recorded by four horses trained by J. Chisholm, Pellmeer, Cowper, Kraal and Corol. Pellmeer showed dash in sprinting three furlongs in •'{(J 4-ss, and Cowper, after running the first furlong in 3J y-.*;s, completed half a mile in •18 2-5«. Kraal returned IS 3-5s in a. similar task, the last three furlongs in 36 4-ss. and Corot ran -18 -l-ss. Rampant sprinted four furlongs in 4S 4-os. finishing very resolutely. Sir Desmond, a four-year-Oid by Vaals from Tepoto, registered l!.» -l-.ls: From a flatfooted start at the halfmile, General Lytup ran to the three-furlongs disc in 12 -i-ps, where he was smartly picked up by Transfix, and they carne home together in 37 2-os, Gene/al Lytup recording 5U l-5s for his full journey. Getting a shade the best of the jump-out. Lord Luck was slightly in front of Aimaza and Embroider at the finish of five furlongs in 1.1 1-5, the first two being run in '25 l-ss. All worked freely. Over the same distance, Chung Chong was clear of Gaelic Salute in 3.5, time that was equalled by Black Beret when he shaded ravernside. Billy Peach, 1.37 4-5, made best time over six furlongs. He ran the first three in 38 1-os and was running on nicely at the end. Dinky Di registered' J. 18 3-5, the last half-mile showing 51s. Kentish went very freely while covering five furlongs with Royal Merit in 1.5. These horses are very bright, although Royal Merit still looks pretty. Altess went with plenty of dash while running five furlongs in 1.4. He is full of condition. Landveyor and Roman i Duke were timed to run six furlongs in 1.17. Water Vixen covered seven furlongs in 1! - e ' ils ' Bve in 'l.O. She looks very 1 well. Argovie was not bustled to run six furp longs in i.t». she is in capital order. High span strode over five furlongs in 1.8; going evenly throughout. Lord Chancellor and Bali iron placed six furlongs behind in 1.16 3-5. ; Ihey are bright and muscular and Lord Chan- £ cellars condition has improved as a result of his recent work and racing Coronaire ran a mile in 1.46. Broieform 5 assisting him over the last six furlongs in 1.18. Coronaire is bearing an improved ap pearance and he evidently thrives on work and racing. Broieform is also in nice order • Richelieu went freely over five furlongs in I >•'! 1-5. He is in excellent condition. Ink . .ipot galloped six furlongs in 1.17 2-5, going fast early and slowing up toward the finish. , Park Royal ran an easy six furlongs in 1 1.23. Spear fa.st was responsible for five fur- - longs in 3.5 3-5. Corsac, who bears an im--1 proved appearance, went nicely over the same I ground in 1.5. Malaguena and Dukedom were timed to run the last six of seven furlongn in 3.20. Hazroy pleased better than La Fillette over six furlongs .in I.IS. running the last four in 52 2-ss. Default and Beau Siri did five furlongs in 1.8. Mild Flutter was just in front of Sonsa 1 at the end of five furlongs in 1.5. Mild Flutter has improved. Black Ace gave Bean Martian three lengths' start and shaded him over three furlongs in 375. Regal March ran five furlongs in 1.6, Plassida was slightly in front of My Bonnie at the end of five furlongs in 1.5. Plassida worked nicely and My Bonnie could have done better, being under a good hold. Artificer, kept up to his work at the finish, completed six furlongs in 1.16 3-5. On the plough St. Leon sprinted three furlongs in 395. Owing jumped four hurdles carefully. Good Armour went with dash in a round over four hurdles. ; WORK AT TE RAPA HUNTING CAMP GOES FREELY (0.C.) HAMILTON. Thursday The going was hard and fast at Te Ulajsa this morning, when the gallops took place 40ft out from the rails on the course proper. The best efforts were those of Hunting Camp and Playfellow, who showed to advantage over six furlongs. Home Again ran once round in 2.5%, doing his work well. Expanse and Jolly fox worked round to the three-furlong post at threequarter pace and sprinted home in 40 l-ss. Expanse is bearing a healthy appearance, although there has been nothing special about his latest work. He is inclined to be lazy 011 the track. Hunting Camp, from a flatfooted start, galloped six furlongs in 3.19 3-5, which was not bettered during the morning. He ran his first furlong in 13s and the next in 13 4-ss. Bold Tide required 2.10 1-5. for a round. Forest Glen went once round easily in 2.33. Sir Emmett and Kitty Green were associated over four furlongs in 52%5, a useful effort for horses of their class. Bramble Song. Hippodrome and Mr Rosa, after running the first two in 255, completed seven furlongs in Grev Salnte. Bueno and Kouraeka traversed five furlongs in 1.5 4-5. Quination, who is bearing a healthy appearance, was paired with Jeep over a round in 2.8. Xeenah and Fortune's Smile covered six furlongs in 1.20. Gold Man, after going fast in the early stages, completed six furlongs in I.2iy a . Riverlands Roe was doing better than Meer Love at the conclusion of five furlongs in 1.6, the last four in 535. Hunter's Night and Maori Land did a round in 2.32, the concluding seven furlongs in 3.43 2-5. Prince Baffles and Lagenia ran six furlongs in 1.20 4-5, the last half-mile in 565. Playfellow, who has been working well. placed six furlongs behind in 3.19 3-5, equal to the best of the morning. Phaleron Sign and Saladam, under a nice hold, traversed five furlongs in 3.9. Captain Courageous and Master Cameron ran the last four of six furlongs in 54 l-ss. Bronze Night and The Dude were associated over a round in 2.5%. They ran the first six in 1.23. Colonel Vaals ran half a mile in 53 1/ 2 s. Jewelled Cape and Night Comedy ran five furlongs in 3.9. Foxwyn did an easy seven furlongs in 1.35 3-5. On the plough, Royal Jay and Water Flight traversed the last six furlongs of their work in 3.15. TROTTING PERMIT (0.C.) HAMILTON, Thursday The South Auckland Trotting Clubs (amalgamated) have been successful in obtaining one of the three extra trotting permits granted by the Government this season. The permit will be used by the clubs at Clandelands on March 10.
