SENIOR COMPETITION EIGHT TEAMS PROBABLE A long discussion regarding the number of teams to comprise tho first grade of the Auckland Cricket Association took place at last night's meeting of the management committee. No finality was reached, but indications point to the eight teams entered being accepted. Flying-Officer W. N. House, representing the five Air Force stations, was in attendance, and he explained the position of the combined team, also dealing individually with a list of players who had played for various associations throughout tho Dominion. Waitangi,—That the Waitangi National Trust Board intends to secure the services of an expert for tho laying-out of a golf course at Waitangi was stated by the secretary of the trust, the Hon. V. H. Reed, at an open-day competition of the Waitangi Golf Club. He said it was planned by the trust to provide links that would be equal to any in New- Zealand. Competition winners during the day were:—Teams' match, Kaikohe (Lubbrook, Guerin, Barclay, Coyne); 36-holes championship: W. Barcley won on a count-back from T. Cross, both scores being 70. FOOTBALLER WOUNDED Captain C. S. Pa.ssmore, reported wounded, was educated at the Auckland Grammar School, where he was a member of the first fifteen. i.\fter leaving school he played for the Grafton senior team and gained Auckland B representative honours. He was a capable booker and a good goal-kicker. Ho also performed well as an amateur wrestler.
