CHRISTCHURCH, Thursday The Banks Peninsula Racing Club's Summer Meeting, scheduled to take place on the Motukarara racecourse on Marcii will be held at Riccarton, permission being received to-day from the Minister of Internal Affairs ana .he New Zealand Racing Conference for a change of venue. As it would not have been possible to carry out the programme at Motukarara with the transport restrictions, the change ■ will be widely appreciated. FRANKLIN RACING CLUB (0.C.) PUKEKOHE, Thursday The executive of the Franklin Racing Club at a special meeting last evening, decided that evcrv effort would he made to carry out the autumn programme at Te Rapa on March 4. A sub-coinmiUe-e was appointed to amend, if necessary, the prize-money. The secretary. Mr. W. ,T. Short, said yesterday that clubs owed a duty lo owners, trainers, iockevs and others dependent on racing for a livelihood, and that his committee viewed the matter in that light. Unless a very drastic change in travel restrictions was imposed, the meeting would be held.
