FAT STOCK PRICES GREATER WEIGHTS NEEDED (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Tuesday Negotiations regarding the schedule prices for fat stock for the 1943-44 season, which have been proceeding between the Government and the New Zealand Meat Producers' Board, are now completed, according to a statement issued to-night by the board. Full details of the prices arranged have been announced. The board states that the urgent need for producing and shipping more meat was the paramount consideration underlying these discussions. In fixing the schedule prices adjustments were made in the values of certain weight grades with a view to encouraging the production of greater weights. The board strongly appeals to all farmers in the Dominion to do everything possible to increase the weights of all types of export fat stock, in order to assist in meeting the pressing needs of the United Kingdom. In this connection, it is the board's intention to obtain all possible assistance and co-operation from primary production councils, the New Zealand Farmers' Union, the New Zealand Sheepowners' Federation and stock and station agents.
