STREET FATALITY

YOUNG SCHOOLGIRL KNOCKED DOWN BY TRUCK Fatal injuries were received by a schoolgirl when she was knocked down by a truck at Avondaie yesterday afternoon. She was: — Noeline Margaret Oantwell, aged six, second daughter of Air. and Mrs. W. A. Cautwell, of 9 Racecourse Parade, Avondaie. The accident occurred at about four o'clock on the Great North Road near the Avondaie School. ' The child was crossing the road after school to meet her mother, when she was struck by a Royal New Zealand Air Force truck outward-bound from the city. She died before she could be admitted to the Auckland Hospital.
