VICHY RADIO REPORT BIG DRIVE IMMINENT EIGHTH ARMIY ATTACKING Ji,v Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright (Reed. 1.45 a.m.) LONDON, Nov. 22 German reconnaissance shows that a large-scale Allied offensive is imminent on both the Sangro and Garigliano fronts in Italy, reports the Vichy radio. General Montgomery, Commander of the Eighth Army, is receiving large reinforcements, which are now concentrating.

Striking from Archi, the Eighth 'Army made a number of attacks, forcing German advanced units to fall back across the Sangro, adds the radio. The Fifth Army have launched a number of attacks southwest and west of Venafro, but they ■were contained.

The Paris radio reports an artillery duel on the Fifth Army front which reached an intensity unparalleled since the battle of Salerno.
