CHILD LABOUR ON FARMS

"Child Labour in the Dominion" was the subject of an address given by Mr W. B Kvetts at the weekly meeting of the New Women's Club, presided over bv the president, Mrs. W B. Darlow. The speaker said that, although a farmer could not legally employ a boy under 15 for wages, lie could, and often did, exploit his own children from infancy and work them to the point of physical exhaustion. He appealed to women to rouse public opinion so that candidates for Parliament, would bo faced with a demand for the abolition of child labour.
