APPEAL TO RESIDENTS RESERVES STILL FALLING An appeal to tho public to avoid wasting water and to economise in its use for domestic purposes was made yesterday by the chairman of the City Council Works Committee, Mr. A. S. Bailey. He said the reserves in the dams had fallen so low that unless there was an early replenishing rainfall the supplies would last only 25 days. Since he last reported on the position fully a week ago, said Mr. Bailey, the reserves of water in the dams had been reduced by another 80,000,000 gallons and it was calculated that only about 303,000,000 gallons remained.
