AUCKLAND EXCHANGE A BUOYANT MARKET A strong tone was again evident oil the Auckland Stock Exchange yesterday, and a substantial turnover was recorded, with recent firm values well maintained. There was a continued demand for freezing companies' shares and the sales list included N.Z. and River Plate and Southland Frozen Meat, neither of which had been dealt in locally for a considerable period. BIG RIVER GOLD MINE The annual report of Big River Gold Mines (Reefion) for the year ended December 31 states that until operations ceased in July 323 tons of ore had been crushed for 2530z. and 200 tons of battery sands were cyanided for These realised a net revenue of £2457. The loss on the year's working was £712, which, combined with previous losses, had placed finances in a low condition, but arrangements had been nvade for bank accommodation in consideration of a debenture over assets. Of the preference issue of 100.000 Is shares authorised, 52,367 shares had been applied for and the amount subscribed, £1684, had been placed in a trust account until the full preference capital of £SOOO was subscribed and conditions justified further development. The mine has been closed in tho' meantime. STOCK AT FRANKTON (0.C.) HAMILTON, Wednesday A medium yarding of fat tiheep was penned at the Frankton stock sale yesterday. Competition was keen at the commencemeint and prices realised were in advance of those obtained last week, but values eased toward tho finish. A full yarding of fat lambs sold readily at recent rates. A medium yarding of ox beef comprised mostly light to medium weight cattle. Prime quality was in keen demand with values hardening. A smaller entry ot cow and heifer beef also met a ready sale with values slightly firmer. Values for a medium offering of veal remained firm. A large yarding of all classes of pigs came forward. Heavy baconers were slightly easier, porkers and unfinished baconers remaining firm at late rates. Store and weaner pigs were dull of sale.
