EIGHTH ARMY THRUST ENEMY DRIVEN WEST MOVEMENT IN SOUTH LONDON, Nov. t The Eighth Anriy advanced again 011 .Monday night and yesterday, says to-day's Cairo communique. In the north, except in the coastal sector, the enemy was driven to the west of Sidi Abd el Rahman. In the southern sector the enemy fell back from their positions in two places, which were occupied by our troops. Describing the air fighting, the communique says that over the past '2l hours the full force of the Allied striking power has been concentrated on enemy units along the coastal road. Light bombers and fighters have maintained incessant pressure on excellent targets provided by slow-moving transport. Throughout these attacks our fighters have formed a protective screen against enemy air attacks. On only two occasions did the enemy attempt bombing raids. One formation jettisoned its bombs and tied. The other was engaged by our fighters, who shot down nine planes and damaged at least 12 others. From the above operations 16 of our aircraft did not return.
