ELLERSLIE TRAINING NIZAM SPRINTS SMARTLY BY ARCHER A good five furlongs by Nizam and a smart half-mile by YVatchett and Catrine were features of the work at Ellerslie yesterday. The No. 2 grass was used for galloping and. the going was faster than it has been for some weeks past. Ridden by J. Bagby, Nizam dashed over five furlongs in 1.3 1-5, the first in 12 4-5s and two in 2-1 l-ss. Nizam was carrying only a lightweight. However, he showed that he has lost none of his brilliance. He was allowed to ease toward the finish. Watchett (Smith) and Catrine (light boy) were responsible for a smart effort in running four furlongs in 50 1-ss.
