ROTOKUA TOURNEY MATCH PLAY QUALIFIERS (0.c.) ROTOKUA, Tuesday The two leaders, O. E. Flyger (New Plymouth) and G. H. Scott (Wellington) in yesterday's round retained their positions when the second qualifying round of the New Zealand Voterans' Cup tournament was completed to-day. The conditions were not so good as yesterday and this had an effect upon the play. Scott and G. J. Templeton returned the best gross scores of the day, with rounds of 80. A 6 a result of their exceptionally good net scoros in the first round, Flyger has earned a reduction of throe strokes in handicap to 13, while Scott has been reduced by two and C. E. Kusabs by one. Ihc Farmers Cup was won by Mrs. Frew (34), who defeated Mrs. Wells (20), 2 up. BOXING CHAMPIONSHIPS The monthly committee meeting of the Auckland Boxing Association was presided over by Mr. A. B. Joplin, president. Dr. A. McGregor Grant was elected an honorary medical officer and Messrs. C. A. Herring, M Delich, W. Senior and J. Story were elected members of the association. The Henry Donovan Memorial Cup, donated by Mr. H. Lynn, and the Maurice Frost Memorial Cup, donated by Private George Maineis, were allocat-ed to the junior division of the Auckland championships, which will be held on September 21, 22 and 23. The Frost Cup is to be for the winner of the junior light-weight section and the Donovan Cup for the most successful trainer of juniors. Entries for the championship will be accepted from all amateur boxers resident in the Auckland Province and it is anticipated that large nominations will be received from members of the armed forces. : ™
