COUNTRY DOCTORS

Sir, —I think it time something was done about doctors in country districts. I nearly lost my boy aged six. I rang a doctor five times during the day. The first call went throagh at 9.30 a,m, and I could not get him out until 11 o'clock that night. ; The doctors at the hospital said we were far too late ahd that they only saved the hoy by a miraele. Once I had to get a doctor? from 34 miles distant, and had to pay £3 10s over and above the social secirity because of the mileage. Is this a fair thing when we pay our social security fees? Something should be done —say, a district nurse—so that we can get medical treatment when needed. A Mothkk of Five.
