THE HOME GUARD

Si r> —I wish to endorse the remarks of your correspondent "E.H." re Home Guard. Things have come to a pretty pass when the individual has to show a lead to the Government in conneotion with the protection of our conntry against an invader. Hats off to Major Melrose for the stand he haj taken and to your paper for the, gup, port you have accorded him. Major Melrose's lead is an inspiration to all who have their country's welfare at heart. To have held the interest of members of the Hamilton Home Guard for over 12 months under such adverse conditions is a tribute to his fiehting qualities and his love for hi.s country The members of the Hamilton Home Guard are 100 per cent behind him and would go anywhere with him to defend their country and their homes.
