SIX CONCUSSION CASES
ACCIDENTS IN THE CITY Six people were admitted to the Auckland Hospital yesterday suffering from concussion. The condition of all was considered not serious last night with the exception of a schoolboy, Leighton Carrad, aged 11, of 94 Shackelton Road, Mount Eden, who suffered concussion and a fractured jaw as a result of a collision between the bicycle he was riding and a motor-car at the corner of Mount Eden Road and Shackelton Road last evening. His condition last night was fairly serious. John Walter Stanley Paul, aged 13, son of Mr. S. F. Paul, of 132 Wheturangi Road, Green Lane, suffered concussion when he fell from the rings in the gymnasium at the Auckland Grammar School. When he fell in the street, a postman, Mr. Alvin Victor Withers, married, aged 31, of 37 Hinemoa Avenue, Devonport, also suffered concussion.
Lacerations and concussion were suffered by Moana Manley, aged six, daughter of Mrs. A. Manley, of 20 Cleveland Road, Parnell, when she was knocked down bv a bicycle in Garfield Street, Parnell, last evening. Mr. Norman Owen Roland Thompson, married, aged 38, packer, of 12 Watea Road, Sandringham, fell in Fort Street, City, and suffered concussion, while the sixth case %-as John Leslie Yurjevic, infant son of Mr. I. Yurjevic, of 30_Takitumu Street, Orakei, who was admitted early in the afternoon.
