REPORTED WOUNDED

MORE AUCKLANDERS THREE OFFICERS INCLUDED A member of the regular forces, Major L. N. McKay, R!n.Z.A., Has been wounded, according to advice received by his wife, Mrs. L. N. McKay, of 121 Vauxhall Road, Devonport. Major McKay was commissioned two years before the war, and before that had seen service in Samoa. He is 33. A member of the Pupuke Golf Club, he was also a keen footballer, and played for the North Shore Rugby Club. Another officer who has been reported wounded is Captain C. D. Brown, M.M., husband of Mrs. C. D. Brown, of 49 Brookfield Street, Hamilton. Captain Brown gained his commission after winning the Military Medal in the last war, and since then he had served with Opotiki Territorial units. He enlisted at the outbreak of the present war and left with the Third Echelon.

Advice that her husband, SecondLieutenant E. L. Ryan, has been wounded has been received by Mrs. E. L. Ryan, of 25 Mays Street, Devonport. Leaving New Zealand with the Second Echelon as a sergeant, Second-Lieut-enant Ryan was commissioned in England. Before enlisting, he was on the staff of the National Bank of New Zealand in Auckland, and was keenly interested in amateur theatricals, being producer, actor and chairman for the Sheridan Players. He was a member of the Pupuke Golf Club. News has reached Mr. T. Cooper, of 16 Tainui Road, Devonport, that the second of three sons overseas, Gunner H. R. Cooper, has been wounded. Another son, Second-Lieutenant T. L. Cooper, was reported wounded last week. Gunner Cooper, who was employed by Dominion Motors, Limited, was a well-known racing motorist and speedboat racer, and was also keenly interested in yachting.
