WOMEN FOR EGYPT

Sir,—l cannot understand the attitude of "Nurses in Training," "Eight Nurses" and others to the value of V.A.D.'s in army hospitals overseas. My sister, who is a nursing sister in a base hospital in Egypt, has mentioned in her letters that the trained nurses overseas have many duties which are merely those of "pros." Although she never complains about executing these duties, it is obvious that V.A.D.'s could perform them. The

trained nurses would thus suffer less from overwork.

The V.A.D.'s are doing good work; they are giving up their leisure time, proving that they are taking their work seriously and that they are capable of standing up to long, hard hours of work. Sister.
