LADY GALWAY GUILD
GRATITUDE FROM ENGLAND Appreciation of the valuable work being carried out by the members and executive of the New Zealand Lady Galway Guild in its splendid work through the province was expressed at the last quarterly meeting of the Auckland Provincial Patriotic Council, according to a letter addressed to zone secretaries. The council's message of appreciation was endorsed by attached letters of gratitude from organisations operating in the stricken areas of London. Among these were letters of thanks from the Women's Voluntary Service for Civil Defence in London, Edinburgh, Lancashire. Westminster, .Rochdale and Clydebank. Some of the letters were from individual recipients of clothing, and others from the civil defence organisations, and all expressed the utmost gratitude for the goods received from New Zealand. "Every single gift that come! to us is indispensable." states one letter. "I only wish all those who helped make, pack and send these gifts could see the expression of gratitude on the face bf each person we are able to help, especially when they are told that the clothing has travelled from so far overseas, and has come 1o them through the generosity and forethought of the women of New Zealand."
