CHRISTMAS FAIR
The one big effort of the Auckland Plunket Society for this year to raise funds to carry on its important work will lie the Christmas Fair to be opened in the Town Hall on Friday by the Mayoress, Mrs. J. A. C. Allum. Months of preparation and organisation have been put into the effort, with the result that many novel ideas will be introduced for the entertainment of both children and adults. In addition to the usual st-dls of cakes, produce, vegetables and flowers, there will be one stall set aside for the sale of Christmas gifts and another containing parcels of gifts suitable for men serving in the overseas forces. The convener, Mrs. Alan Donald, and her committee have worked hard to make the fair a success and it is anticipated that a large number of grateful parents will attend.
