Vane has arrived in Auckland to ' keep a date with the pohutukawas." Mrs. Vane has just come from Suva, where she has held a successful exhibition of her paintings in aid of the Red Cross funds. She will leave shortly to do some painting at AVhangarei Heads and will then proceed to Maha-
rangi Heads for the same purpose. Later she' intends to visit the South island. Mrs. Vane said yesterday that she wished to paint, among other New Zealand scenery, the famous pohutukawa trees in which she has always delighted. While in Auckland, Mrs. Vane is the guest of Mrs. F. A. A. Brett, Orakei Road, Reinuera.
