CRICKET SEASON
SENIOR PREMIERSHIP SERIES THIS AFTERNOON EDEN TO MEET PARNELL SIDE Promise of brighter play for tho sixth series to-day in (he Auckland Cricket Association's senior championship was given by the batting displays last Saturday, when no fower than 19 players compiled scores over .SO. Now that the various t-eanis have settled down tho true strength of each eleven is beinjir revealed. A good display should be witnessed in the contest between Eden and Parnell on No. 2 wicket at Eden Park. If R. E. J. Menzies and W. N. Strachan turn out again with the Papakura Camp side Middlemore may ho hard pressed in its encounter with the Army combination on No. 1 wicket. University, which is second- to North Slioro for the . championship honours, will probably have the measure of Training College on No. 3 wicket, while an even game should result in tho meeting of Y.M.C.A. and Grafton on No. 4 wicket. North Shore's strong batting and bowling should give the sido superiority on its home ground where the team is matched with Ponsonby-Balmoral.
