Sad News
of tins page may remember that several months ago we published a most interesting letter from an English girl, Dorothy Sutch. Jit was written to her pen-friend, Jean Howe, in New Zealand. Now we have heard the sad news that Dorothy, her mother and three brothers and sisters were killed in one of the heaviest air raids experienced in Kent. This iu*\vs came from her eldest, brother, a god 21, who is the only survivor of the family. While still iii hospital, a friend brought him one of .lean's letters to Dorothy. It had been found among the wreckage of their home. Dorothy's friend, Doreen Jordan. who was also mentioned in the letter published on this page, is safe and well, but her home was also wrecked by a bomb. It is news like this that makes us thankful for the calm courage of our brothers and sisters at Home who have to face such tragedy. Our hearts go out to Dorothy's brother in his deep sorrow.
