By a Quiet River

"HEAR ANNE SHIRLEY, —I am at ~ a beautiful place—on the grassy banks of the Waikato River. A few yards away the lovely river itself is silently flowing along, and on the opposite bank tea-tree bushes are very plentiful. Oil this bank, weeping willow trees supply plenty of shade and droop to touch the green waters of Deep Creek, a small river that flows in to thi i Waikato Near by my father is fishing. The only sounds are the singing of the birds and the croaking of frogs. What could he more peaceful? Wishing you and Grey Malcolm lots oi sunshine.—Yours sincerely, Julie Kilsabs, Reporoa.
