CRICKET SEASON
SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP SIXTH SERIES OF GAMES PARNELL AND EDEN MATCHED The senior championship of the Auckland Cricket Association will be advanced a further stage to-morrow with the sixth series of one-day games in the first round. Matched in the principal fixture at Eden Park, Parnell and Eden should provide a good display on No. 2 wicket, with any advantage possibly favouring Eden, and a good exhibition should be witnessed on No. 1 wicket between l'apaknra Camp and Middlemore, the former appearing to have-the better prospects. Training College has given good displays in its encounters this season, but may not, prove equal to the strontr University, combination in the match on No. 3 ground. Honours in the contest between Y.M.C.A. and Grafton on No. 4 wicket are likely to go to either side, while North Shore, which has led from the beginning, has a good chance of success against Ponsonby-Balinoral on its home ground at Devouporl. The points to date are:—North Shore, 2(1; University, 21; Eden, 18; Grafton, 17; Parnell, .10; Papakura Camp, 11; Y.M.C.A., U; Training College, 10; Poiwonby-Balmoral, 10; Middlemore, 0. The following teams have been selected:— University.—First grade: Jackman, Muthcson. Cooper, Bell, Winter, Garrard, Sneddon, Schnauer, Pike, Bain, Weir. Senior B grade: Smith! Christiansen, Poison, Page, Latta, Sidnani, Catley, Gill, Serin, Yates, Wood. Middlemore. —First grade: Pearson, Cleverley, Smith, Vivian, Fisher, Beale, Johnson, Taylor, Nottman, McArthur, Morrison. Senior B grade: Calder, Mardle, Dearie, Doreen, Holland, Beale, Erson, Batger, Craig, Robinson, Simpson. SUBURBAN ASSOCIATION The fifth series of matches in the senior I grade championship of the Auckland City and Suburban Cricket Association promises to provide interesting games. Tho two leading teams, Mariukau and Dilvvorth Old Boys, will meet in the principal fixture. MafrrrlJjui, which has shown outstanding form this season, is seven championship points ahead. However, Dilworth Old Boys has beaten most of the stronger teams. The game appears to be very open. Oil No. 1 wicket R.V. will play Air Force, which is in third position in the competition. The greatly improved Tui eleven is matched with Brixton on No. 3 wicket, while on No. 4 wicket Green Lane should defeat Army Service. WAIOURU CAMP ELEVEN [by telegraph—prf.ss association] WANGANUI, Thursday The Waiouru Camp cricket team, which is to play Wellington on December 5 and 6, will first meet Wanganui on Saturday. The Waiouru team is as follows:—M. P. Donnelly, T L. Pritchard. N. H. Gallichan, C. K. Saxton, V. S. Sale, J. Carroll (wicketkeeper), P. P. Henley. R. Cotterall, L. Miller, N. Adams, T. Bliith, W. Durra^li. Pritchard, Gallichan and Saxton are New Zealand representative cricketers. Saxton is an All Black and Otago Plunket Shield player, and Sale has represented the North Island ai cricket and Auckland at Soccer.
