DEATH AT A TANGI (0.C.) TAUMARTTNUi, Thursday A descendant of .the famous house of the Te Heuheus, a powerful line - of paramount chiefs of the Tuwharetoa tribes of Taupo, Rihi te. Heuiieu died during a tangi at Kauriki, Manumii- . , , , The second daughter of the late paramount chief, the Hon. l'e Heuheu Tukino, and the chief tainess, Te Rerehau Kahotea. both of Taupo, she was also the grand-daughter of the famous Patatai te Heuheu. of Taupo, the donor of the National Park. Pope Pius A. decorated her with the rare golden cross —pro Ecclesia et Pontifice—-as a token of the Church's gratitude tor her good work. Rihi te Heuheu co-operated witn her brother, the present-paramount emef of Taupo, Hoftni te' Heuheu, and ' brought into effect several improvements on Maori land questions. She is 1 survived by her husband, Mr. Hikarahui Heniopo, three sons and two ' daughters.
