FIRE CALLS IN CITY

A report that the .Auckland Fire Brigade received 60 calls during September was made by the superintendent, Mr. W. L. Wilson, at the Auckland Metropolitan I'ire Board meeting yesterday. Of the total, 2;\ were to actual fires, eight were caused by the burning of grass or rubbish, live wero chimney fires and 21 were false alarms. Sis of the latter calls were accidental, fire were considered to be justifiable and six were malicious.
