PEDESTRIAN CROSSINGS
The illumination of pedestrian crossings in districts where lighting restrictions are enforced was the subject of a letter received by the Devonport Borough Council from the Commissioner of Transport. Mr. G. L. Laurenson, last night. The letter advocated the placing of shrouded lamps either over the middle of the crossing or at both ends. It was decided to refer the matter to the traffic inspector, Mr. B. Rutledge.
