INTER-ISLAND TRAVEL
NEW ARRANGEMENTS MADE Passengers from Auckland going to the South Island will hare to travel by the 3 p.m. express-to Wellington to join the steamer while the daylight service between Wellington and Lyttelton is in operation. Train travellers in the South Island will have the benefit of spoeial expresses which the Railway Department has introduced to supplement the existing service. Another consequence of the new schedule is that all passengers from Lyttelton to Auckland will travel on the limited express from Wellington. The new service includes expresses southward from Christchurch on Sundays. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 11.2 p.m., while northbound trains from Invercargill will leave on Sundays at 5.5 p.m. and on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 1.25 p.m. Expresses from Dunedin will leave on the same days at 10 p.m. The passenger train service between Christchurch and Lyttelton is not affected.
