NORTHLAND ASSOCIATION (0.C.) WHANGAREI, Wednesday Following a decision made at the annual meeting, the Northland Lawn Tennis Association is applying to Mho Now Zealand Association for permission to conduct the Dominion junior championship tournament. Peter Smith, the national junior champion ana holder with an Auckland partner of the doubles title, is resident in this district. The association also decided on a general coaching scheme, particularly for juniors, if (he clubs would give sufficient support. If it is proceeded with, a professional coach will be engaged after Christmas Permission is being sought from tnc iNC" Zealand Association for the holding of an official tournament at Easter. A general meeting of the association was fixed for October 22 to consider the Easter tournament. In his annual report, the president, Mr. A F Larcomhe, said that, as had bee" expected 12 months previously, a few clubs had decided not to carry on during the war, with the result that there were now only 'OO affiliated members, compared with 1477 the previous year, miinwß PreMOfficers were elected as follows, -rrtsi dent Mr. A.
