WOMAN MOTORIST FINED The sequel to a motor accident in Onchunga on June 16, when two women pedestrians were struck and .seriously injured, was heard before Mr. F. H. Levien, S.M., in the Onehunga Police Court yesterday. The driver of the car, Mrs. Helen Mary Walker (Mr. Holmden), pleaded guilty to a charge of negligent driving. Counsel explained that on turning out of Church Street West into Queen Street the right hand front door of the car swung open and when the driver was leaning over to close it the car veel-ed to the left, struck the kerb, mounted the footpath and bumped into the two women, one of whom was pushing a baby fit a pram. It was a brand new car, added counsel, and was travelling slowly. ' i Remarking that it was apparently a brand new driver also, the magistrate imposed a fine of 20s, and costs.
