NATIONAL SAVINGS

GROUP SCHEME AT WORKS In furtherance of the national savings campaign, visits have been made to many of the largo industrial establishments in the Auckland and Westfield districts by tlio l'ost and Telegraph department organisers, Messrs. C. V. Holyoake and J. Gilliek. The group system of contributing to the scheme was outlined to the employees. One of the largest of those meetings was held at the Westfield ireezing works on Friday, when the organisers met a mass meeting of over 1100 employees. The meeting endorsed the promise of support given by the workers' delegates and arrangements are being made to organise contributing groups in the various departments at the works. Appreciation of the assistance given by the managements at the various works was expressed by the organisers. Every facility to meet the employees has been arranged, they said, and in some cases where the meetings have extended beyond the lunch hour the workers have not suffered anv financial loss in consequence of working time lost.
