ADULT EDUCATION

CLASSES FOR WOMEN .Among recent developments in adult education carried out under the auspices of the Auckland Advisory Committee 011 Adult Education is the establishment of classes, in the suburbs, in home management. The classes are especially designed to cater for the needs of mothers of young families and aim at improving efficiency in the home. The course has three divisions, one dealing with nutrition, another with management and development of children, and the third with the care of materials in the home and interior decoration. In order that young mothers may attend the classes, arrangements are made to mind children during the class, and the hour—earlv afternoon—has been fixed to suit the convenience of mothers. A class has started at Mount Roslcill, and classes at Otahuhu, Remuera and Point Chevalier are to start shortly, as we'll as others in other parts of Auckland. The scheme has tho support of women's organisations and is regarded as one fulfilling a much needed want.
