Requiescat in Pace
7 hey sleep in alien lands, ncath alien skies —- Their laughter quelled, their gallant songs unsung, Ungarnered the bright blossoms ol their dreams— These, who were young. They went, remembering many lovely things— Spring, dancing, rata-shot, across a hill, A mountain's snowy peak—the golden songs That tuis trill. Their broken youth renewed, they'll Wake again. To greater loveliness, 'neath jairer skies; And peace shall perfume all their quiet days, And War's dark dream shall cease to agonise. —lvy Cibbs.
